The System: How to make progress on anything

The following system is very simple. I've been using some version of it for a while without explicitly outlining it. What I've noticed is that — because we haven't had a document explaining the system explicitly, sometimes we miss steps (don't write a brief or forget to explicitly nominate a DRI) or fall off track with the consistency of our loops.

Explanations

• Directly Responsible Individual (DRI): This is the person who owns the brief and owns the initiative. This needs to be someone who has 1. The expertise to execute on the brief, and 2. A strong sense of ownership.

The Feed (ontrack.fyi)

• There was a period where I just created a makeshift version of this inside of Notion using a database, but I wanted to formalize it a little bit, so I've now created a product called Updates.fm which we're going to use for this.
